At the gym I go to they have both a sauna and a steam room. Recently I have been sitting in the steam room after swimming as I thought it would be good for my skin. I then came to thinking what the benefits are so I did some research.
Steam Room
uses moist heat - therefore cannot attain as high temperatures as saunas
around 40 degrees
can benefit asthma, allergies, bronchitis
relief from muscle and joint tension
blood circulation improvement
Sauna
uses dry heat- 60-80 degrees
- having a high body temperature detoxifies your body by killing the bacteria, fungi, parasites and viruses
- strengthens the immune system
- improve blood circulation
I guess it depends what benefits you are looking to receive, but I'm still not sure which I prefer?
I think I will use the steam room if I have a cough but I think the higher temperature of the sauna benefits you more.
Which one do you prefer?
